Paris Clothing Style for Women

Paris clothing style always looks effortless and chic at the same time. It always looks well-planned, comfortable and bold without being over-the-top. Here are some tips on how to dress like a Parisian, whether you plan on going local there or just looking for ideas of what to wear.

The Clothes and Shoes

If there is one style that will never fade in Paris clothing style, it is black and white stripes. Choose loose shirts with the black and white stripes, adding a belt and skinny jeans or leggings, and you’re good to go. Wear flattering clothes for your figure. Black, grey and navy are always slimming and flattering. Flouncy skirts, A-line skirts, pencil skirts and skinny jeans are the basic bottom wears for French women. Trench coats, leather jackets, blazer and pea coats never go out of style. Best choice of trench coat you can make is the one with basic neutral colors, with double-breasted, with length beyond the hips and belts on the waist. Cardigans and military-style jackets are also acceptable for wear.

Paris is a city made for walking, so make sure that your shoes are comfortable enough to walk long distances. Boots and flat ballet shoes are the way to go if you don’t like heels. White tennis shoes will make you stand out as tourist in Paris, but canvas shoes like Converse or Benisons are highly recommended. It’s always a comfort to know that you can walk fast enough in your shoes that you won’t be steps behind your family at outings together. You might also read Old Fashioned Halloween Traditions.

Accessories and Make Up

Accessories and make up are two things you don’t need in achieving the style. Wear minimum make up and let your hair be natural. Parisian women are known to only choose one area on their face to enhance: eye shadows without lipstick, or lipstick without anything else. For accessories, scarves are the must-have. A brooch or a necklace can be added, but again, keep it at minimum. It’s even recommended to only wear one accessory at most. Enjoy the Paris clothing style to stand out in your community or get ready to blend in with locals at the streets of Paris.
